Best coffeeshops downtown san antonio

These are the top four places  for the best cups of coffee in downtown San Antonio, Texas. These four options are in close proximity to the riverwalk where most hotels/stores and restaurants are located, so you won’t have to stray far from the main downtown area. Let’s begin!

BEST FOR SIT DOWN:

La Panaderia

Where: 301 E. Houston St, 78205

Located on the same street as the Majestic Theatre, you’ll find this gem of a coffee shop and bakery. They now have three locations in San Antonio, but this downtown spot is their second opening amongst them. You can find it open every day from 7 am to 3pm.

It’s the perfect spot to have brunch, drink coffee, enjoy their overly sized baked goods and drink mimosas! Lattes are served in a perfectly sized cup, the ambiance is lively and the view is fantastic for city vibes.

CommonWealth Coffeehouse & Bakery

Where: 611 Hemisfair Blvd, 78205

Inside Hemisfair Park, a historic house from the 1800’s sits remodeled into a cozy sitting area for those wanting coffee. As you first walk in, the scent of their lovely bakery goods fills the room, the seating inside is cool and modern, but if you prefer outdoor seating, they also have that. A perfectly shaded patio deck with a view of Yanaguana Garden sits outside waiting for you to arrive. Other than coffee, you can also find  brunch options and a small but good list of wines offered by the glass.

Now let’s go on to the options if you’re more in a hurry but need your dose of caffeine…

BEST FOR ON THE GO:

Revolución Coffee + Juice

revolucion coffee

Where: 300 E. Houston St, 78205

Four locations in San Antonio and one in Houston. If you’re in Texas, this is a worthy choice. This small but lovely  coffee shop is walking distance from most hotels; their hours are short, mainly operated in the morning, so be sure to check this place out if you’re an early riser, but if you’re not, take a look at some of their other locations! There’s more than just coffee; another choice of drink that they alone offer is their cold pressed juices, most of which come in various flavors. A lot of their products are healthy options, many that you won’t normally find in a coffee shop.

My Revolucion latte pictured above contains espresso, lavender infused honey that is locally sourced and has one of my new favorite additions to coffee, oat milk!

Niche Coffee Company

Where: 108 Villita St, 78205

Nestled inside of the Riverwalk Plaza Hotel, Niche Coffee Company offers great on-the-go service. Most of their drinks are for you to take to-go, though they do have a small sitting area if you’d rather sit. The glass windows give you a view of the courthouse and located nearby is the beautiful San Fernando Cathedral.

That concludes the list of the top 4 coffee shops downtown. Coming soon, there will be an in-depth look at more spots for the best coffee in San Antonio. Stay tuned!
